AFC representatives inspect construction of stadiums in China | 2023 AFC Asian Cup | Shanghai

The 2023 AFC Asian Cup, the region's flagship men's international football competition, will take place in China, and the stadium construction for the tournament is underway. Recently, representatives from the AFC arrived in China to inspect the process of the construction work.
On July 8, the Organizing Committee of the Shanghai competition zone held a meeting to discuss the preparation work. Du Zhaocai, deputy minister of the General Administration of Sport and executive chairman of the Chinese organizing committee of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup attended the meeting. After the meeting, Du and the AFC representatives went to the newly built Shanghai Pudong Football Stadium for a field trip. It was the first inspection of one of the newly-built stadiums after the AFC confirmed the host cities for the 2023 Asian Cup. The progress of construction on the stadiums and training fields in ten host cities will be inspected. The AFC officials have completed their inspections in Suzhou and Shanghai.
