Are parents right to worry about "baby brain?"

It's called "baby brain": that feeling of a loss of memory, of focus, of cognition in women who had given birth. Now studies have confirmed pregnancy alters a women’s brain, long term.

Studies in 2016 and 2021 revealed scientists found postpartum women had reductions in grey matter in regions responsible for social cognition that can last for years.

That's a serious enough issue. But for some parents, the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating this maternal brain fog.

But should parents be worried about "baby brain?" Jamie Maraucher spoke to experts who said it’s not as worrisome as it sounds.
