Sky News host Peter Gleeson says world-renowned Australian neurosurgeon Charlie Teo has "been barred from performing some types of brain surgery without expert approval".
The Australian reports the country's top medical watchdog ordered Dr Teo obtain written consent from an independent neurosurgeon before undertaking operations that "have brought him wealth and acclaim".
The ruling followed complaints to Dr Teo about misbehavior and administrative malpractice.
"He is a polarising figure," Mr Gleeson said.
Some either see Dr Teo as a "genius" while others would support the medical watchdog's "very stringent" condition he must now undertake.
Mr Gleeson discussed the issue with PR Counsel Principal Kristy McSweeney.
