Antonio Conte settles on his next destination between Manchester United and Arsenal
Italian coach Antonio Conte is looking forward to an exciting return to the Premier League, after his previous spell with Chelsea.
The Italian, who led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017, has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan at the end of last season.
With Inter Milan Conte won their first Serie A title in 11 years, but then left after a row with club presidents.
Then he met with Tottenham officials during the summer, to take over the task of coaching the team, but the two parties did not reach an agreement and Nuno Santo took over.
It is now said he would be open to taking over as Manchester United manager if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked, and it is not thought he would be interested in replacing Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
"Conte will only accept a winning project, so I don't think he will accept Arsenal and that's why Tottenham refused," said Sky Sports correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio. "I think he will only accept Manchester United's offer."
Solskjaer has come under fire for Manchester United's shock 2-1 defeat to the Young Boys in their opening Champions League match on Tuesday night.
The Norwegian coach has now lost seven of his 11 Champions League matches as the Red Devils coach.
He has yet to win the trophy at Old Trafford since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December 2018.
Among those named to succeed Solskjaer are current PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.
But with Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table, Solskjaer's exit is not imminent.
