Can a Labrador dog be trained as a guard dog?

Yes!

They can be trained as guard dogs. Not only Labradors but in my opinion every dog breed on this planet can be trained as guard dogs.

Tip- Keep your lab fit and train it to attack. Soon he will start attacking things or people who look suspicious to it.

Labs are prone to obese(overweight) problems. He will become lazy so keep check on his diet.

I have a male yellow Labrador. Here's a pic

I trained him to attack monkeys, pig, and thief

But he is still very friendly.

Yes. Labradors (AKA the friendliest dog breed of all) can be trained to become guard dogs. It does require a few innovative techniques and a lot of patience though.

3. They Are Energetic & Protective.

4. They Are Incredibly Obedient.

Sure they can be. Their natural disposition is not aggression and hence people look at them as cuddly happy creatures. But if you press the right buttons, almost any dog can turn into a “guard dog”.
Question is, do you want to do that?
Most all dogs protect their territory. Which is enough to keep most miscreants away. Are you expecting something heavier in terms of threat? Ideally, do not try to mess around with the natural behaviour of a breed. You dont know what kind of monster you will create.
