The Indian Navy currently uses Russian-made mig-29k fighter jets but these aircraft will only be in use until 2034. It is then known to be removed from service. But before that, by 2032, India's twin-engine tedbf fighter jets will be added to the service by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The Navy, however, is currently proposing a global agreement to purchase new fighter jets with carrier bases.

The Indian Navy has always had problems handling mig-29k aircraft. A total of three planes have crashed between November 2019 and November 2020. This is because the body of the mig-29k is already referred to as fly-by-wire mechanisms and RD MK-33 engines. Due to these, new multi-carrier aircraft are currently being procured for the Navy. In January 2017, 57 aircraft procurement information applications were sent due to delays in the contract to supply India's self-made Hal Tejas to the Navy. But reports from People say that's just what's happening. This is because India is also producing its own self-made drdo TEDBF fighter jets for the Navy.

There is currently competition between Boeing's f / a-18 Super Hornets and Dassault Rafael for these purchases worth Rs 24,000 crore. Both are in line with India's twin-engine aircraft requirements.
