Greens told to take action against Senator Lidia Thorpe over offensive jibe

Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes is calling for further action to be taken against Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe over an offensive comment made in the Upper House on Wednesday.

Ms Thorpe was forced to apologise after she was accused of remarking “at least I keep my legs shut” during a debate in the Senate.

It comes in the wake of a tumultuous fortnight in Canberra and raises further questions about the culture within the corridors of Parliament House.
