DODGE CHALLENGER flees from traffic stop - Arkansas State Police in pursuit #police #pursuit

The Trooper's narrative is below. I've posted the entire video as some like to listen to the interactions between law enforcement and the suspects. For those who wish to only watch the pursuit, I've added the chapter/time stamps.

On 2-4-23 at approximately 4:38 p.m. I was traveling northbound on Interstate 555 near the 20 mile-marker when I observed a
white Dodge Challenger, bearing AR LPN (BAB2), and the tag showed to be expired. I ran the tag through ATLAS and it came
back expired October 2022.

I initiated my blue lights and attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle slowed down and acted like it was
going to pull over and then got back into the outside lane. I initiated my siren and air horn but the vehicle continued driving a
short distance before finally deciding to pull over. I walked up to the vehicle and could not see inside due to illegal window tint
(4%) so I tapped on the passenger side window. The driver of V1 then fled at a high rate of speed. I ran back to my patrol car
and advised Troop C communications that I was in pursuit of the vehicle.

The Challenger got into the inside lane and drove at a high rate of speed for approximately 1 mile and then got back into the
outside lane before finally pulling back over onto the right shoulder of the road. I conducted a felony take down and was able to
detain both the driver and passenger without incident.

The driver, later identified as Jalen Young, was read his Miranda rights and he agreed to speak with me. When I asked why he
ran, he advised he thought his license was suspended out of Cross Co. The passenger, identified as Donte Garrett, also
advised that is why he fled. Upon running his DL through ATLAS it showed him to possess a valid class A license with no
suspensions.
Rusty's was called to tow the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted due the car smelling strongly of
marijuana. I advised other State Troopers on scene that he could have potentially tossed evidence in the median somewhere
between the initial stopping place and the place where he finally pulled over.

Cpl. Mcglaughlin was able to recover
approximately 3oz of marijuana where I advised it would be located.
Mr. Young was transported to the Poinsett Co. S.O. to be booked. The evidence was seized and logged into the Troop C
evidence locker.
