Headstart: A staffing crisis hits the country's number one COVID-19 referral facility. At least 11 volunteer doctors assigned to the Philippine General Hospital's COVID ward have opted not to renew their contracts. PGH spokesman Dr. Jonas del Rosario says this will make it more difficult for the hospital to increase its bed capacity. Del Rosario says the PGH is hiring more residents to fill their manpower gaps. He is now calling on the Department of Health to increase the salaries of health care workers amid this pandemic.
