Controversies continue to arise over the policy that the remains of people who died from COVID-19 must be cremated within 24 hours of death. A Kaohsiung resident said that after her husband died from COVID-19, she arranged for his body to be transported from the hospital to a funeral parlor. She was charged NT$50,000 for the transport of the body, and she believes the price was artificially inflated.

新冠確診者死亡後24小時內火化爭議不斷，高雄有民眾指控，自家丈夫染疫死亡後，要從醫院移靈到殯儀館給認識的殯葬業辦後事，運送的過程中被索價5萬元，質疑對方哄抬價格，高市殯葬管理處表示，尚未接到投訴案，但已訂出合宜價格，以運送遺體為例，建議合理價格為2萬元。
