Due to the ending of freedom of movement meat processors are lacking the staff they need to process pigs for example, this has created a backlog on farms. This has now cause the price to drop making it more difficult for farmers to survive financially. All of this ironically has forced producers to import pork from EU countries. Germany being one of them. The sad reality of Brexit is that instead of becoming less reliant on the EU for workers and products, Britain may become more reliant in the short-term at least.
