Covid-19: Protests erupt across Europe against new lockdown rules and mandatory vaccines

Protests turned violent as police clashed with demonstrators in the Netherlands and Belgium against new coronavirus restrictions.

Thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets in Austria, Croatia, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium.

The protests come amid a surge in cases of coronavirus in Europe.
